Gardner Lounge
“The brooklyn-based duo High Places are most often compared to Beat Happening, a band cherished for their regression- into musical primitivism, adolescent sexuality, and any other condition that twenty and thirty-somethings bemoan the loss of in therapy.” - pf
Note: A second chance to see Rob Barber and Mary Pearson as many missed their opening set last fall for “The Blow.” Music-lovers, don’t blow this one.
Heavily hyped art noise rock band from the Wham City Baltimore scene (yes, where your fav Dan Deacon is from).

We had a great turnout for this show! Khaela Maricich told us this was the last time she would ever play “Hey Boy” in Iowa! Oh no! At least we were there to witness its Iowan retirement.

Khaela Maricich makes her triumphant return to Grinnell College. Since playing Gardner Lounge in Fall of 2004, she’s gained considerable notoriety. Last fall she released Paper Television (K Records) which received great critical acclaim. This was her second record working with Jona Bechtolt of YACHT. This fall, she’ll be appearing at Grinnell without Jona, but you can catch him with Dirty Projectors on September 2nd.
